‘fragments in Flux’
The assemblage of the elements dances in between one another as they interconnect and collide, creating Fragments In Flux.
This was created using the etching process. This project took place alongside my collaborative project ‘botanical plastics’ and so, some of the ideas intertwine. The shared timeline led me to combine and alter ideas from one project to another according to my interests. Both projects had risen from our overarching theme provided by Huddersfield University ‘climate’, with this: me, Ryan, and Inese decided to each respond to climate independently and also with a collaborative project.
My independent project is specific to the 4 elements idea we had, and so the designs from the etching collage is to emulate parts of the 4 elements, but with my interest in water from my previous project, I decided to continue that notion and incorporate other ideas towards the air and earth element into my projects for the rest of the academic year.
The artists I researched for this project were Wassily Kandinsky, Terri Dilling and Yves Tanguy. These artists led me to think more conceptually when approaching my work, and how it could be approached differently.
