Meenaaa’s Artchive
INFO
With a focus on dynamic and captivating forms, I am a multi-media artist, Meenaaa.
My work combines and revisits traditional art-making processes and concepts to heighten fresh ways of seeing and sensing my cross-cultural experiences and identity. In an effort to capture this, I draw on imagery and materials that capture personal and travel experiences between holidays in Palestine.
I explore concepts such as memory, water, and ecologies through recycled materials. Experiential and special interactions between my audience and my work are initiated through my process of using photography. Curation guides my practice in visualising outcomes and how space can be adapted to my art. Found materials display adaptability in repurposing how art can become eco-friendly.
Art can be an illusion; my art is not to copy but to illuminate and interpret a space using contemporary cubism as a base to allow the mind to deviate and delve into the realm of ‘possibility’.
To ‘question’ is to travel. And ‘to travel’ is a constant notion in my craft; each of my outcomes requires the viewer to mentally peel away at the layers in an effort to discover the true implications of my art piece.
