‘Water’
Emulating the motions of water and its properties and expressing my theme of texture and movement through a creative lens.
During the time spent with this project, I explored using hot glue, acrylic paint, and resin in preparation for my final piece. I chose these processes/materials to work with as I felt they best reflected the theme. I was particularly interested in the idea of how work can be viewed by my viewers. The acrylic painting is reminiscent of my time spent in the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia. During my hiking experience, I was enticed by the surrounding large bodies of water; each having a unique visual created by the reflection of the sun.
The mirrors with the resin came into play when I wanted to bring another dimension to my work, as I wanted to play around with how I want my viewers to interact with my work. This came about after researching the works of Olafur Eliasson.
