‘Postcards’

This is a project from 2023, led by my travel experiences in Europe. I decided I wanted to display my theme ‘memories’ through postcards displaying the feeling of feeling homesick while abroad and how it juxtaposes with the feeling of wanting to escape mundane life. To end the project, I decided to burn my postcards, the focal point of the project, to send them away. The photography taken while burning my work was what was then displayed at the final exhibition.

During my time in this project, I completed for the final piece a range of process work: Image transfers, carbon paper drawings, sketches, biro drawings, and acetone transfers.
